Intruder – Poem 9/30

The most insensitive intruder of all
The relentless, unwanted visitor
Never bothers with a call
Just barges in uninvited
and unwelcome

The daily visits make me tired
Weary, blurry eyed and grumpy
I say this visitor is undesired
And yet I must endure
each interruption

Although it should by now just be routine
Each time it feels l have no warning
As I’m rudely interrupted
by the trespasser I call “Morning”
