Irritable – Poem 4/40

No, I don’t have a problem
Why do you ask?
Maybe you’re my problem
Looking at me with that look on your face
Talking to me with that tone in your voice.

Oh yes, yes you do have a look and a tone.

So why don’t you and your look and your tone just leave me alone?

No, I don’t want to fight
Why do you ask?
You picked this fight
Walking around and humming that song
Doing everything loudly, and everything wrong.

Oh yes, yes you do have a song and did everything loudly and everything wrong.

So why don’t you and your song and everything you’ve done loudly and wrong just move along?

No, I don’t want you to go
Why do you ask?
Go if you want to go
But could you pick up some ice cream, if you go, if you do?
Oh and could you get some chocolate chips too?

Oh yes, yes you could sit with me and eat ice cream and chocolate chips too.

So why don’t you – huh? Yes, Yes, I love you too.

    • Heh, your comment made me laugh. Yes, this is supposed to be a bit, well, off. Exactly. I was trying to convey an irrational state of mind, when you’re irritable for no good reason.
